1. Research & Requirements Gathering:
I began by meeting with the four UIT departments to gather insights and understand the key pain points of their current communication system. This stage was critical in shaping the overall direction of the intranet site, including content categorization, feature prioritization, and layout decisions.
2. Wireframing & Design:
After gathering requirements, I developed wireframes to visualize the layout and user flow of the site. The design focused on clean navigation, making it easy for users to find updates relevant to their department. Branding was kept consistent with university marketing guidelines, and the visual hierarchy was designed to highlight critical information.
3. User Flows:
I created detailed user flows to map out how various users would navigate the site. These user flows helped visualize the ideal pathways users would take to access news, profiles, resources, or submit feedback.
4. Development & Content Integration:
With the wireframes approved, I moved into the development phase, implementing the design on SharePoint. I ensured that departments could maintain the site without having to manually input date using APIs, making the platform sustainable long-term.
